Project Wildcat is an innovative partnership between the Fort Valley Youth Center of Excellence (FVYCE) and Fort Valley State University (FVSU), designed to enrich the lives of youth in the Fort Valley community. This collaboration aims to provide comprehensive educational support, mentorship, and skill development opportunities that empower students to excel academically and personally.

Objectives of Project Wildcat

  • Strengthening Education: Through the Teacher Education & Certification Pipeline Program, aspiring educators from FVSU work closely with FVYCE students, ensuring they receive quality tutoring and academic support.
  • Homework Support and Tutoring: Focused on critical subjects like math and reading, Project Wildcat offers individualized and group-based assistance to help students overcome learning barriers and achieve academic success.
  • Family and Community Engagement: The partnership fosters a community of care by engaging families, friends, and local organizations in supporting the youth of Fort Valley.
  • Providing Enrichment Activities: Beyond academics, the program includes music, light refreshments, and other engaging activities to create a holistic learning environment.
